As a retired psychiatrist, I believe that going to a 50th reunion will likely be "therapeutic", let alone fun, even for those for whom high school was painful at times. EVERYONE was important in one way or another. I know it will be heartwarming for me to again see and talk to many of you. Fortunately, I now live close enough in Milwaukee to have attended one of the planning meetings, and had some joyous reunions. Memories flowed and merged into the meaning of my life ever since Von.

Since Von, I probably don't qualify anymore for being "Most Modest". I was also deemed "Most Accident Prone" and the section of Senior Supplement on "Can You Imagine?. . ."wrote: "Steve Moffic healthy". Well, I have been, and there have been no more accidents since I met my beloved wife, Rusti, in my second year of college. I'll be most interested in how others have both changed (hopefully for the better) and remained the same.

The work put into setting up this reunion, led by Benita "Peter" Morris Thomas and Ellen Plusker, has been just extraordinary. They deserve our utmost gratitude. I hope as many as possible will share something of their lives since Von one way or another, and all of those who submitted information to Barbara Goldsmith Burkel's dedicated and creative attempt to collect our bios, will do so again.

What greatly saddens me at the same time, however, is those who have passed away in the meanwhile. I hope to be able to share a brief memorial eulogy of them at the reunion.

I hope, too, that there will be a good representation of our teachers. I have much to be grateful for to the teachers, even to the toughest ones like Ms. Grauer, who was a lasting influence on my writing ability. She might say I've already gone on too long, so until the reunion, my best regards to all.
